What’s your favourite thing about your job?
I love creating memorable experiences for guests. Most of our guests are having a great time and I get to be around that, seeing the smiles on their faces and knowing that I’ve helped to make their day that much better.
What are the key roles and responsibilities in your role?
I’m in charge of the overall guest experience at the venue. I make sure that everything is running smoothly, and I work closely with the staffing teams to make sure they’re on top of their jobs and that they have all the support they need.
How did you get into tourism and your current role?
I got into the tourism industry straight out of school. I started out as a food and beverage attendant and realised that I loved working in hospitality. From there, I worked my way up to a venue manager position.
What’s your advice for someone considering a career in tourism?
If you’re thinking of becoming a venue manager or getting into hospitality, know that it’s a fast-paced environment. If you love working with other people or want a job that offers something different every day, tourism is a career to consider.
